About Us

The Jazzonymous Big Band was set up by local Guernsey musician Bryn Timms in 2000 to open up the opportunity for not only his pupils to play in a big band setting but also for the many other talented musicians in the island who needed an outlet for their 'musical passion' for jazz.

As such we are primarily a rehearsal band, however we do occassionally do the odd gig for local events or at some of the local hotels such as the Rocquettes Hotel.

We rehearse every other week in the Ron Short Centre at the Beau Sejour leisure centre. We've built up quite a band library of well over a hundred numbers from good 'ol big band swing to soul, blues and even rock 'n' roll.

About Bryn ....

Bryn Timms is a bit of a local legend !
He's been playing Saxophone & Clarinet now for over 60 years as a semi-pro and started playing with dance bands in the 40's & 50's and later with big bands, trios, quartets & rock bands along with countless other groups encompassing pretty much every musical style & genre.

Bryn continues to teach all levels of pupils as well as maintaing a hectic schedule of gigging with various local bands.
He's 70+ .... going on 17 !
